Andrea – on the Burrard Bridge, Vancouver, BC

Andrea Heald, M.Ed.

English Instructor. Vancouver, Canada.

Hello! My name is Andrea Heald. I am an English language instructor based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I hold a Master of Education degree from Simon Fraser University and am a certified CELPIP and IELTS preparation instructor. I am TESOL certified and had the honour of receiving a Teaching Award of Excellence in 2017.

I began teaching English in 2014 after many years in the corporate sector and working as a stage manager and director in theatre. Both experiences have informed my teaching and I relish opportunities to teach English using effective techniques I have adapted and developed through my work.

“Thank you so much, Andrea, I mean it. If it was not for your help, I would be unable to do it on my own….you are already a part of our history in Canada.”

– Leandro

“I learned speaking and writing from Andrea…she recommended recording my voice and listening to these recordings by myself….her lesson was very helpful, and I could get … confidence for the test.”

– Yuki

“It is rare to come across the exceptional passion and motivation for education that is consistently displayed by Andrea. I have had the pleasure of working with her for 6 years and have seen her growth skyrocket from a beginner to motivator, Instructional Specialist, Teacher of Excellence award winner, and finally masters educated leader. She expertly filled the position of instructional specialist and has acted as a mentor and resource to both new and experienced teachers. Her unique combination of business experience, ESL expertise and theatre background…. make her an asset….”

“Last Saturday I took another CELPIP test and…I get the result that I want (score 7 in speaking).

Your advice during the classes helped me a lot 🙂

Thanks for your support.”
